PROFESSIONAL PAINTERS LONDON

Contact us.
Tell us about your space.

You do not need to measure every wall or write a long specification before calling. A short description of the property, the rooms and the changes you want is enough to begin. Use the form below or call 020 3404 3311. We can discuss the next step towards an onsite survey and a quote that reflects the work you actually have in mind.

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROPERTY

A few details.
A useful first conversation.

Tell us which service you need and the best time to get in touch. For mould removal, describe the affected area and whether it has returned after earlier treatment.

Tell us where the work will take place

Start with your postcode and whether the property is a home, an office or another business space. Explain if you live there, if it is empty or if somebody else will provide access. These details help organise a useful visit instead of leaving the practical arrangements until later.

If the property is in a shared building, mention the entrance, stairs or lift and any arrangements made by the building manager. There is no need to send sensitive entry information in a general message. Simply explain that access needs to be coordinated so the right person can arrange it at the appropriate point.

Make a room and surface list

A room name does not always describe the entire job. A bedroom quote might cover the walls alone, or it might include the ceiling, door and skirting boards. List the surfaces you want considered in each room and make a separate note of anything you want left untouched.

For several rooms, mark the priority areas. That helps if you want to compare a smaller refresh with a wider scope. For exterior work, identify the elevations, outside walls or woodwork involved. If you are unsure how to describe something, a clear photograph and an explanation of what you want changed can be a useful starting point.

Mention the condition as well as the size

Old fixing holes, loose paint, worn corners and previous repairs may affect the preparation. Point them out even if you expect the new colour to cover them. Describe any staining, damp or recurring mould separately; those concerns need assessment rather than an assumption that repainting will resolve them.

Approximate room dimensions are useful if you know them, but you should not take risks to gather measurements. The survey is the opportunity to look at the actual surfaces and access. An honest account of the room is more helpful than a precise floor measurement that says nothing about the work around doors, ceilings and other details.

Colours, materials and things already bought

Tell us if you have chosen paint, have a colour reference or have already purchased materials. Include the finish or product information where you have it. A colour name alone does not settle whether the material suits every surface, so keep the walls and woodwork distinct in your description.

If you are still deciding, say so. You can discuss the scope before every colour is final, then agree when those decisions need to be made. For a business property, share any specification or approval requirements that affect the materials. It is easier to consider them in the quote than introduce them after the job has been arranged.

The timetable you are working towards

Explain whether you have a preferred period for the work or a deadline connected with another event. A move, a new floor or an office reopening can all affect the plan. Be clear about which date is a preference and which is tied to something already booked.

Ask what can be agreed for the actual scope and availability. Painting includes preparation and drying, and exterior work also depends on conditions. A useful timetable allows for those parts of the job. Avoid arranging another contractor or moving furniture back on the assumption that the final coat means the surface is immediately ready for normal use.

Protection, belongings and access during the job

Discuss which belongings you will remove and what can stay protected in place. Large furniture, computers, fixed shelving and fragile items are worth mentioning before the survey. Agree responsibilities so that nobody arrives expecting another person to have already cleared the room.

For a home, explain the rooms the household needs to keep using. For a business, identify customer routes, staff areas and delivery times. These details may change the sequence of work. A clear scope includes practical working arrangements as well as a list of painted surfaces, even where some decisions are confirmed separately from the price.

Read the quote by what is included

When you receive a quotation, check the rooms, surfaces, preparation and materials against your original list. Ask what is excluded and how any additional work would be discussed. If you are comparing providers, make sure each quote describes broadly the same job rather than compare one price for walls with another for a complete room.

Keep a record of the scope and the agreed access arrangements. If you make a change before work begins, discuss whether it affects the quotation or the timetable. A clear conversation is usually simpler than leaving a small addition to be discovered once the work is underway.

Ready to make the first call?

Have your postcode and a brief room list to hand, along with the questions you most want answered. You may want to know whether a single-room job is suitable, how an onsite visit is arranged or which details are needed for exterior painting. Start there; the discussion does not have to be complicated.

Call 020 3404 3311 to talk about your project. There is no need to fill a long form to reach the team. If your enquiry concerns damp or mould, mention that at the outset so it is considered as its own issue, rather than passed on as an ordinary request to repaint a room.

Questions before you book.

Is an onsite quote available?

Discuss the work by phone and arrange a free onsite survey. The visit helps confirm the surface condition and the scope of the job.

Can I ask about a job without knowing the colour?

Yes. Explain the rooms, surfaces and changes you have in mind. Materials and colour choices can then be discussed before the scope is confirmed.
